When, how and why did you get started with us? After going to high school with Cooper and seeing the guy I knew as a fellow lanky swimmer undergo nothing short of a miracle transformation, I thought I’d try out whatever was clearly working for him. I joined up right before the first lockdown of 2020, and did my first few weeks of CrossFit at home, which consisted of nothing but push-ups, sit-ups and an exercise bike. What would be your dream workout? Something like an AMRAP of rowing and heavy deadlifts, maybe throw in some bar muscle-ups for fun. What workout would you want to avoid? Anything with thrusters. Or burpees. Or box jump overs. Or burpee box jump overs. Favourite Crossfit Athlete? (doesn't have to be someone famous) Watching Justin Medeiros come from rookie of the year in 2020 to fittest on earth in 2021 at age 22 was pretty special - being a year younger than him reminds me that I need to get my behind in gear. What's the best thing you own that costs under $100? I bought myself an arc lighter for about $30 to light candles. It uses electricity to light stuff instead of actual fire, so much nicer than going through heaps of packets of matches. Biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made? Shaving my head in Year 12. It works for some people, it did not for me. Favourite quote? "If you were waiting for the opportune moment, that was it" - Captain Jack Sparrow What's your fav 90s jam? There isn't a single situation where Livin' la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin doesn't elevate the mood Last thing you watched on TV? Love is Blind S2 on Netflix. What a rollercoaster of emotion. The funniest thing that happened to you recently? I drove past a kid that I coach in local sport singing his heart out and banging his chest on his walk home. We made eye contact long enough for him to recognise me, before he covered his head in his hands and picked up the pace on his walk. Most used emoji? 🤯- Obviously not very hard to blow my mind If you could have one other CrossFit Claremont member body part, what would it be? Liz's left and right tattoos would make driving so much easier when someone else is giving directions.
